The main component of neem is a tetranortriterpenoid named azadirachtin. It is known for its variety of properties such as antifeedant, repellent and insect growth inhibition effects. Neem oil has a wide range of natural pesticidal properties against a wide range of insect pests. At the same time, it has its own inherent problems such as volatility, poor water solubility, and oxidation. Our research and development team has perfectly aware of these problems associated with botanical insecticides. They know that it has resolved when they are prepared to be used in commercial pesticidal preparations.
Nano-emulsion formulation
We tried several methods and finally, we came out of the Nano-emulsion formulation system. Nano-emulsion formulations help to effectively disperse the Azadirachtin molecules on the crops during spraying. Thus, it is more effective in controlling the pests when compared to microemulsion formulations. Also, it has got a good storage stability under a broad range of temperatures (10 to 55 Celsius). Also, the cost of spraying per unit area is cheaper than that of micro emulsion formulations of pesticides due to high water solubility and their capacity to solubilize hydrophilic and lipophilic compounds, leading to the use of less inert and active ingredients. In a Nano-emulsion formulation system, the biological performance of the pesticides is improved by using adjuvants and surfactants.
